In the last two weeks alone, we have been helping customers who have experienced the force of water, and not just in a single form, but in all three.
After the ups and downs of working in an old house, the Basement Bathroom/Laundry room is complete! All the finishing touches are in place, for great design, and great function. We took some extra steps to make it useful, and have some great tips on elements we think make it that much better.
Time for flooring to go down, wall details to go up, and grout all around. The basement bathroom is hitting is final stages! Second-to-last post on this project!
The basement bathroom is starting to move into finishes! This is the best part when you really get a feel for how the room is going to end up. Paint hit the wall, and tiles are making their way into the shower. Every little detail counts.
With inspections all set, it’s time to board up the basement bathroom! This bath/laundry combo is ready for a little drywall, mud and sanding. Once all cured, it’s on to paint and finishes! The shower is also prepared for its future tiles with cement board, and a little extra.
The basement bathroom/laundry room continues on. Next step…the Rough in! This project was taking over an unfinished area, but there were still a lot of little details that needed to come together to make it right. Cement floor needed a little leveling, insulation along the cement foundation walls, insulation in the ceiling to help dampen noise going upstairs, fresh framing with pressure treated bottom sills, and even a rigid vent pipe for the dryer and ventilation fan. The plumbing team continued skills, roughing in all the fixtures, testing for leaks, and installing the cast iron tub (it was heavy!) The electricians made quick work of the fixtures and outlets, with everything looking great in the process. With all the rough inspections complete, it will be on to closing things up!
